INNSieme connect - Improving biodiversity and restoring a living river through integrated pilot measures
The INNsieme connect project aims to ensure that the Inn River offers measurably better living conditions for endangered animal and plant species. The ecological network of river and floodplain habitats is to be consolidated and functionally improved. Through cross-border communication and involvement, the population is informed about the Inn River nature reserve and actively participates in its conservation. The Chair of Aquatic Systems Biology is providing scientific support for the measures implemented in the project and, together with other project partners, is compiling comprehensive management guidelines for the creation and maintenance of key gravel habitats. This is made possible by co-financing from the European Union as part of the Interreg Bavaria-Austria 2021-2027 funding program.
