Huge congratulations to our M.Sc. student Namya Mathur for receiving the Johannes B. Ortner Foundation Award, presented during a special award dinner of the Technical University of Munich. 🎉
We're thrilled to have supervised Namya’s M.Sc. thesis, which explores long-term changes in soil organic carbon storage across organic matter pools and how subtropical farming systems shape carbon dynamics. The thesis research provides key mechanistic insights with critical implications for advancing sustainable agriculture under subtropical conditions. 🌍
Our soil sampling campaign was made possible thanks to generous support from a TUM without Borders scholarship and a Dr. Hermann Eiselen Scholarship by the fiat panis Foundation and our collaboration with the University of Hohenheim. The long-term field trial is part of the SysCom project, where Namya received invaluable support from Akanksha Singh from the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) and the bioRe Association. 🤝
