Agritechnica is the world’s largest trade fair for agricultural machinery and takes place every two years in Hanover. It is considered a central meeting point for manufacturers, researchers, and practitioners to showcase the latest technologies and trends in agriculture.
We were present at Agritechnica with our research project “NEOM – Inside the black box of N cycling: resolving N release from slurry to cropland soil through Energy fluxes and Organic Matter turnover.” The project is part of the AgroMissionHub, a joint initiative of the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the Bavarian State Research Center for Agriculture (LfL), and the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT). With NEOM, we aim to better understand nitrogen cycling processes and the microbial heat dynamics during slurry decomposition in soil—paving the way for new approaches to efficient nutrient use.
Our soil cube and the presentation slides attracted numerous visitors, sparking many exciting conversations with farmers, agricultural advisors, and researchers from all directions. Alongside the NEOM project, other exhibits from the AgroMissionHub also participated at Agritechnica.
