Objectives
Students achieve an overview of the fields of application of GIS for landscape and environmental planning. They achive basic knowledge () in the usage of GIS in display, modelling and analysis.
Description
The lesson provides basic knowledge on GIS application in landscape and environmental planning. It contains:
- a short history of GIS development in landscape planning,
- basic knowledge on databases, data models and structures,
- remote sensing technologies,
- application of GIS GIS software, modules and function as well as processing tools for landscape and environmental planning,
- spatial and thematical analysis of GIS databases,
- combinations of GIS databases with environmental modelling,
- basic knowledge on the presentation of results supported by GIS.
