Note: Theory and Methods of Landscape Planning 1 and 2 are an integrated course. Therefore, they can only be registered together (total no. of credits: 5 ECTS). The module is limited to 15 participants. Students on the waiting list who wish to participate should attend the introduction to the module on 14th April in case of vacancies.

Objectives
On successful completion of the course, participants should be able to:
- Understand and discuss different models of planning
- Understand requirements for and the character of communicative planning
- reflect on issues of ethics in planning and nature conservation, including the concept of sustainability
- understand the theoretical foundations of landscape planning
- understand and reflect on important methodological elements of landscape planning such as evaluation, prognosis and definition of aims and objectives
- Understand and discuss different models of planning
- Understand requirements for and the character of communicative planning
- reflect on issues of ethics in planning and nature conservation, including the concept of sustainability
- understand the theoretical foundations of landscape planning
- understand and reflect on important methodological elements of landscape planning such as evaluation, prognosis and definition of aims and objectives
