Teaching
Our teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that fascination and curiosity are the main drivers of learning. At the university level, it’s essential to nurture and support students’ passion for knowledge, guided by dedicated mentors. Instilling a sense of responsibility for the environment and sustainable management of natural resources is particularly crucial, as today’s forestry students will shape the future of our planet’s ecosystems. We also prioritize making analysis techniques and data processing easily accessible. Aligned with our research group’s goals, our primary aim in teaching is to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for their future careers in the (inter)national job market.
TUM alumni are expected to make significant contributions in fundamental science, sustainable resource management, policymaking, and climate-smart forest management. We strive to achieve these objectives by offering a wide variety of courses that include hands-on exercises, engaging lectures, and field excursions.
